As well my own regular teaching work, I have played a wider consultancy role for other educational bodies such as City & Guilds; I was a key member of the test panel for the C&G Creative Studies pilot scheme, later becoming a course leader teaching Machine Knitting at Harrow College. I adapted and taught this course for weekend residential centres country-wide which in turn led to my ongoing role as a C&G Verifier, travelling all over southern England assessing the course at different venues and the students` final body of work.
These days I am regularly asked to help at exhibitions, give master classes to textile and fashion-based degree students and can often be found planning and workshop specific techniques to student groups.
My ongoing passion is for creative knitting, designing and constructing exciting knitted items and developing techniques - but also being able to pass this passion on. I can help you; whether you're just starting out, a degree student, an existing designer with a problem to solve or even just a hobbyist who wants to grow. I can help with any number of textile, fashion and knit assignments. I maintain an honest and constructive approach, with feedback you can benefit from either individually or as a group.
If I you think I can help you, get in touch –
Sybil
